It was an honour to participate as a Distinguished Panelist and Speaker at IETE MTS & IC3I-2026 hosted at Amity University.
The discussion focused on India’s growing role in the global technology landscape and the importance of moving beyond technology assembly towards designing, developing, and owning indigenous technological capabilities. As emerging sectors such as 5G, sustainable data centres, future connectivity, and deep-tech infrastructure continue to evolve, the need for a strong domestic technology ecosystem has become increasingly significant.
A key theme of the interaction was the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry. Innovation often loses momentum when research and real-world industry challenges remain disconnected. Strengthening collaboration between educational institutions, researchers, and industry leaders can help transform ideas into practical solutions, manufacturing capabilities, and long-term national technological strength.
